“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
― Ansel Adams
And a ton of stuff !!!
It takes stuff for photography. This photo is going to Paws & Claws Quarantine Center. Within that Jeep.... there are dog ties, bandanas, treats, toys, tripods, backdrop and holder, reflector, cameras, strobes, yoga mat or blanket and any props for photos. It takes a lot of stuff.
You don't just snap a pic and thats it. You create the image you want. I look for eyes! I want animals to look me straight into my lens.
Here is one of my first tips. Its for cell phone photographer, beginners or a reminder for everyone. Reflectors. Oh my goodness they are so helpful. So someone not in photography may not know... there are photography reflectors. They are to reflect light. (without getting technical).
If you are shooting on your cell phone... go get the bright shiny silver sunshade that you put in your car. Reflect the sun with it toward your BLACK dog.... you have just put "life" into your black dogs photos and will have that catchlight in the eyes. Play with it.
I use reflectors in studio, especially dark areas and I want to reflect my strobe. It gets more technical than that.... but lets keep it simple.
Pull out your car sunshade and shoot some photos.
