AI Pet Pics or Fine Art Pet Portraits in my Memphis studio: The Heart Knows

Artificial intelligence is everywhere.  AI pet photos are certainly fun.  They are cute, quick, and often good for a laugh.  But while AI can generate an image, it cannot FEEL a moment.  It does not know when your dog barks, twirls, or when a shy pup offers that tiny, hopeful tail wag.  I witness it all and feel every emotion. Artificial intelligence can only guess.

Fine art pet portraiture is different. In my Memphis studio, every portrait is shaped by connection, patience, and intention. Real lighting, real emotion, and real artistry guide the entire process. The result is authentic, not artificial. It is never about descriptions, filters or prompts. It is about honoring who your pet truly is, inside and out. The soul behind the eyes.

AI is fast and playful. Fine art is personal and handcrafted. One gives you a novelty. The other gives you an heirloom.

When you want more than cute, when you want something created with love and meant to last, artistry will always win.

Original Image by Sandra Ferguson Photography. Submitted to AI - with instructions to add a pink flowing dress, on sofa, giving a look back.
AI generated image - changed dogs features.
This is AI image that was created from Sandra Ferguson Photography's original image. Some of the facial markings on left side are changed. The long hair on legs and paws, changed. Lighting is not good, dark and bland. Eyes do show well.

As you can see, AI did ok. But changed the dogs facial markings, long hair on legs and paws. The lighting if off and bland.

Which photo do you think Mom loves most? She loves the one of her girl in her own dress with long fur. She remembers the experience of coming to my studio and taking our time to craft artwork together. She knows every treat, every twirl and how many times it took to get our shots. It wasn't artificial, it wasn't just taking pics - it was an experience!

Think of it this way: Would you rather have AI create a photo of you on a Caribbean cruise… or would you rather go on the cruise, experience the cruise and take the photo yourself?
