Over the past few posts in my Through My Lens series, I’ve shared a little about what happens behind the camera... the watching, the patience, the slowing down, and the philosophy behind fine art pet photography.

Editing is where intention becomes art. It’s where I take raw images, moments caught in chaos, and shape them into something meaningful. Through my lens, see the leashes and people. My computer sees what the image can be.

Through My Lens, Long before a dog steps in front of my camera, the work has already begun.

I replay sessions in my mind. I zoom in on details others may never notice. I adjust, refine, and sometimes redo because I know what the image can become. Through my lens....

What many don’t realize is that behind every portrait is an unseen collaboration, a quiet team of humans working together: pet parents, family, photographer assistants, volunteers, and friends.

Every dog I photograph is a living work of art. Each portrait is created slowly with intention, patience and heart.
