MANE, Dis Memphis Weather Got a Bark… But Your Pro Pet Photographer Holds the Treats!

Memphis weather is doing its usual tricks! All I have to do is schedule outdoor sessions and boom, the rain rolls in. Sigh! Sunshine on one day, mud puddles lasting three. Yep, we’ve already rescheduled a few sessions. And that’s totally fine! If the forecast starts looking muddy a few days out, we’ll sniff it out together and make the call.

But here’s the treat: cloudy days are a photographer’s best friend. Those gloomy skies? They’re like a big soft belly rub for your portraits, no harsh shadows, just dreamy light and happy tails. So don’t cancel just because it’s overcast. Your pup’s close-up might be hiding behind those clouds!

Now, rain? That’s a no go. I don’t take my camera out in the drizzle, and even the day after can be a puddle party. Muddy paws, soggy grass, and knee deep puddles aren’t ideal for dog portraits. (More than likely, they have gotten wet & muddy in your backyard too)

What if you want your sessions in the slippery, thick mud and puddles? Ummm, thats a big no from me. I had back surgery last year and I am keeping my spine safe. I don't panic, I just pivot.

Rain, clouds, or chaos, don't worry! Whether we reschedule (sometimes more than once), shift in-studio, or chase the dry spots in between, your in good hands. I promise we will get your holiday, Christmas and Ugly Sweater photographs.

So if this Memphis weather starts barking, don't run. I've got backup plans and a studio thats ready. You hear marines say, "Improvise, adapt, overcome". Well, this pet photographers saying is "Sniff, pivot, still get the shot".
